Wireless ISP Pages

These pages provide information for configuring and operating Internet, Intranet, Extranet and ISP configurations using Air-Frame 10 and 100 models. Air-frame 10 and 100 features are optimized for IP based networks. They provide unsurpassed features for the ISP to construct both basic access services and advanced, delay sensitive services such as IP video conferencing and IP telephony.

Introduction:

Air-Frame may be used in a variety of ways to configure Internet access solutions. the following sections provide generic network information for each of the possible configurations:

Point to Point networks

Point to Multi-Point networks (Simple Cells)

Multi-Cell Based Network

Daisy Chain (Mesh) Based Network

Multi-Link Networks

Back-Haul and Relay networks

Bridged Networks:

Bridged ISP networks are the quickest and most convenient configurations for small or user installed networks and are described here.

Routed Networks:

Routed networks with Customer based control (user installed) are described here. Routed networks with centralized control are described here.

Delay Sensitive Applications:

Delay sensitive applications such as IP Video Conferencing or IP Telephony may be configured to use Multi-Link configurations in 'Duplex' mode.

VPNs and Security:

Air-Frame 100 may be configured to provide 'on-air' security (mini-VPN) or end to end VPN functionality.

High Bandwidth Access:

Individual customer who require additional capacity may be configured into a dedicated Cell, the standard compression feature installed or a Multi-Link connection may be created (up to 4 links may be configured or 4.8M of bandwidth).

Bandwidth Control:

The maximum bandwidth provided to any customer may be precisely controlled using Air-Frame 100 bandwidth management features and may be based on Total bandwidth, Transmit bandwidth, Receive bandwidth, Time of Day or Day of Week.

High Density Coverage:

Air-Frame supports Multi-Cell networks to provide very dense coverage.

Cell Concentration:

Air-Frame may be configured for use in Back-Haul networks i.e. from remote concentration points (or POPs) to a centralized location with minimal latency.

Geographic Coverage (Mesh networks):

In some cases it is more cost effective to use two (or more) medium range connections to reach a geographically difficult customer rather than a single long range connection. Air-Frame supports relay network connections.
